Key Highlights of the Circular

EPFO has instructed all regional offices and sub-regional offices to leverage the NAN 2.0 grievance redressal platform as a special opportunity to address and resolve pending disputes and complaints that are currently pending before consumer forums / consumer commissions.

The initiative is aimed at reducing litigation and enabling faster settlement of member grievances through administrative resolution mechanisms.

Objective of the Initiative

The circular emphasizes the following objectives:

Early resolution of disputes relating to EPF claims and services
Reduction of litigation burden in consumer courts
Direct interaction with members and employers through the NAN 2.0 platform
Strengthening grievance redressal mechanisms within EPFO

Instructions to Field Offices

EPFO offices have been directed to:

• Identify pending consumer forum cases involving EPF members
• Review the facts and records of such cases in advance
• Attempt amicable settlement during the NAN 2.0 programme
• Provide clarifications and corrective actions where feasible

Significance for Employers and Members

Employers and EPF members who have disputes pending before consumer forums related to EPF services, such as -

  • Delay in claim settlement

  • Pension-related issues

  • Transfer or withdrawal disputes

  • KYC or member data correction issues may utilize the Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0 platform as an opportunity for direct engagement with EPFO officials and potential resolution.
