Draft Industrial Relations (Andhra Pradesh) Rules, 2026 Issued

The Government of Andhra Pradesh, on 13 February 2026, released the Draft Industrial Relations (Andhra Pradesh) Rules, 2026, inviting objections and suggestions up to 15 March 2026.
These draft rules aim to streamline procedures relating to the election of worker representatives under the Industrial Relations framework and enhance transparency in industrial establishments.
š Key Highlights of the Draft Rules
š³ļø Fixation of Election Schedule
Employers must provide a minimum of three working days for filing nominations.
The election date shall not be earlier than three days and not later than fifteen days after the closing date of nominations.
The election date must be notified at least seven days in advance.
Notice specifying the number of seats must be displayed on the physical or electronic notice board and adequately publicised among workers.
š Nomination Process
Nomination papers shall be provided by the employer.
Each nomination must:
Be signed by the candidate.
Be attested by at least two voters belonging to the concerned group/section/shop/department.
Be submitted to the employer within the prescribed timeline.
