Nagaland Govt. introduced the Online System for Registration and Licensing

On 15th December 2025, the Government of Nagaland introduced an Online System for Registration and Licensing, marking a significant move towards digital labour compliance and ease of doing business in the State. With immediate effect, all processes relating to registration, approval, licensing and renewal under the Factories Act, 1948 (interim phase) and the Nagaland Shops & Establishments Act, 1986 (mandatory) shall be carried out through the official portal: 🌐 https://labour.nagaland.gov.in Key Highlights: ✔ Applications, supporting documents and fee payments must be submitted online ✔ Certificates and licences will be issued electronically ✔ Digitally issued certificates will be legally valid for inspections and official purposes ❌ No physical/manual applications will be accepted, except with written approval of the competent authority The system will initially be implemented in Peren, Phek, Longleng and Kiphire for a three-month pilot phase, followed by a statewide rollout based on evaluation. This reform promotes paperless compliance, faster approvals, transparency, and modern labour governance, strengthening Nagaland’s digital regulatory framework.
