The Government of Andhra Pradesh has notified the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (Andhra Pradesh) Rules, 2026 vide G.O.Rt. No. 146 dated 6 August 2026. These are the final Rules, issued after considering objections and suggestions received on the draft Rules published earlier on 6 April 2026.
The Rules have been framed to implement the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020 across Andhra Pradesh and come into force from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.
The new Rules consolidate the State-level compliance framework relating to workplace safety, health and working conditions and replace the corresponding Rules framed under several earlier labour laws, including those governing factories, contract labour, building and construction workers, inter-State migrant workers, motor transport workers, plantations, dock workers and beedi & cigar establishments.
