Industrial Relations Code (Amendment)Act, 2026

The Ministry of Labour and Employment has issued a notification for the Industrial Relations Code (Amendment) Act, 2026 (Act No. 1 of 2026) on 16 February 2026 after receiving the President’s assent. The amendment modifies certain provisions of the Industrial Relations Code, 2020 to remove legal ambiguity regarding the repeal of earlier labour laws and to ensure a smooth transition to the new labour code framework
