Karnataka Profession Tax Advisory, Effective from February, 2026

The Government of Karnataka, vide Notification No. DPAL 08 SHASANA 2025 dated 15 April 2025, has issued an advisory regarding the payment of Profession Tax for the month of February 2026. As per the advisory, employers are required to deduct and remit Profession Tax of ₹300 per employee for the month of February 2026, as prescribed under the applicable provisions of the Karnataka Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, 1976. Employers must ensure that the deducted tax is deposited with the concerned authorities within the prescribed timelines and that the relevant compliance procedures, including filing of returns where applicable, are completed in accordance with the advisory. This advisory serves as a reminder to establishments operating in Karnataka to comply with the revised Profession Tax deduction requirement for February 2026 and to refer to the official notification for detailed compliance instructions.
