Remuneration Threshold of ₹19,000 Notified for Audio-Visual Workers under OSH Code, 2020

This is to inform you that the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India has issued a Gazette Notification dated 13 May 2026 under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020. As per Gazette of India (Extraordinary) Notification No. 2492(E), the Central Government has notified ₹19,000 per month as the remuneration threshold for the purpose of determining the status/applicability of an Audio-Visual Worker under Section 2(1)(f) of the OSH Code, 2020. Where remuneration is paid in lump sum, the equivalent monthly remuneration shall be considered for applicability. This notification is relevant for production houses, media companies, entertainment industry employers, digital content units, advertising agencies, OTT/content creation entities and other establishments engaging persons in audio-visual work. Employers are advised to review existing contracts, remuneration structure and engagement terms of audio-visual workers to ensure proper compliance alignment under the OSH Code, 2020.
