The West Bengal Labour Department, by Order dated 20.07.2026, has directed that bonus for the year 2026 be paid before Durga Puja — completed by 28.09.2026, outer date 01.10.2026 — and not by the statutory date of 30 November 2026.
Also required: rate not to be lower than last year's; coverage of casual employees, re-employed retirees and contractor workmen with 30 days or more of service; clearance of earlier years' arrears; and ex-gratia for above-ceiling and non-covered staff.
