The Maharashtra Employees’ State Insurance Scheme has made available an updated district-wise list of Insurance Medical Practitioners working under MH-ESIS as on 31 March 2026. The list contains the names of practitioners, their districts and clinic addresses. This makes it a useful reference for insured employees, employers, HR teams, payroll departments and compliance professionals handling ESI-related employee support.
As per the district-wise summary, the list contains 490 Insurance Medical Practitioners across Maharashtra.
An Insurance Medical Practitioner, commonly known as an IMP, is a medical practitioner listed under the ESI medical system. For an insured employee, the list is practically important because it helps identify a listed medical practitioner in or around the employee’s locality. For employers and HR teams, it works as a ready reference whenever employees ask where they may approach for medical assistance under ESI.
The list should be understood as a directory of practitioners and clinic addresses. It should not be treated as a complete guide on medical entitlement, referral procedure, reimbursement, hospitalisation or treatment eligibility. These aspects should be verified separately through the applicable ESIC or MH-ESIS system.
The highest number of IMPs is shown in Thane with 122 practitioners, followed by Pune with 116 practitioners and Mumbai Suburb with 90 practitioners. Mumbai City has 35 IMPs, Palghar has 32, and Raigad has 26. Other districts with listed practitioners include Satara, Kolhapur, Sangli, Ahmednagar, Solapur, Jalgaon, Nagpur, Dhule, Akola, Buldhana, Parbhani and Hingoli.
This shows that a major part of the listed IMP network is concentrated in Thane, Pune and the Mumbai region, which are also important employment and industrial centres.
The locality-wise details make the list more useful. Mumbai City includes areas such as Kurla, Mahim, Wadala, Mazgaon, Jogeshwari, Dadar, Worli, Dharavi and Chembur. Mumbai Suburb includes places such as Mulund, Andheri, Kandivali, Dahisar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Goregaon and Malad. The Thane section covers Thane, Ambernath, Bhiwandi, Kalyan, Navi Mumbai, Mira Road and nearby locations.
The list also shows some districts with zero IMPs, including Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Nashik, Nandurbar, Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed, Nanded, Latur, Osmanabad, Amravati, Washim, Yavatmal, Wardha, Chandrapur, Bhandara, Gondia and Gadchiroli. This should not be interpreted to mean that insured employees in those districts have no ESI medical facility. It only means that no IMP is shown in this particular list for those districts. Employees may still need to verify the available ESIC dispensary, ESIS dispensary, ESI hospital or other medical arrangement separately.
